Typhoon Haiyan strikes the Philippines

This morning, Typhoon Haiyan hit the island of the Philippines leaving 750,000 civilians fleeing and four dead.

This typhoon is the greatest of its kind since Typhoon Megi, which hit in 2010. Haiyan is classified as Category 5, the highest of its class, with winds reaching up to 315 km/h.

The storm is expected to move to Vietnam tomorrow.
