Toronto City Council met for today to discuss a report on the possiblity of expansion of Billy Bishop Airport.

Deputy City Manager John Livey presented a report to council outlining Porter Airlines’ requests, and what that would mean for the airport. Livey’s report recommends that the city negotiates a plan to phase in the jets before voting on whether to approve Porter’s requests to fly jets out of the island airport.

The earliest council would vote on the expansion of the Billy Bishop Airport would be after the upcoming election, in 2015.
