The Canadian national anthem is back in the news this week, after two singers failed to do it justice.

The first substandard performance happened at the Winnipeg Jets vs. New York Islanders game on Wednesday when Jill Shackner accidentally subbed in lyrics from “America the Beautiful.”

The second performance happened in Lethbridge, Alberta when Dirk Edwards forgot the lyrics to O Canada and almost muttered a profanity out of embarrassment.

This timeline shows some examples of famous moments of Canadian and American national anthem performances gone wrong.
