Canada’s medal collection continues to grow at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games.

It’s been less than a week since the start of the Winter Olympics, and Canada is off to a great start.

The country ranks in fifth place overall with 13 medals in total.

So far Canada has won four gold, five silver, and four bronze medals.

A History of Canada at the Winter Olympics

According to the Canadian Encyclopedia, Canada has won 170 medals since the start of the Winter Olympics in 1924.

Canada ranks in sixth place with the total number of medals won since the start of Olympic Winter Games.

Since then Canada has hosted the winter Olympics twice in Vancouver and Calgary.

The country has a total of 62 gold, 56 silver and 52 bronze medals.

This year is Canada’s 23rd time competing.

Today, Team Canada had a great start in men’s hockey beating Switzerland 5-1. This is the first year NHL players are not allowed to compete in the games.
