On the morning of March 10th engineering students from Ryerson University hosted their annual “Bug Push.”

The event involves students, faculty and in this case a local celebrity pushing a vintage Volkswagen Beetle around the downtown campus located at Yonge and Gerrard.

Each year the school chooses a charity to raise money for. This year it was the Canadian Cancer Society. The fundraising plan is simple, any amount of money is accepted as a donation which then allows you to push the Beetle or have a designated member of the engineering team push for you. Snacks, refreshments and music are included in the experience as the push goes for 24 hours.

This year, Toronto councillor Norm Kelly showed up to show support and even lend a helping hand.

Donations can also be made on the engineering students GoFundMe page, which can be found on the @Ryersonbaja Twitter page.
