Kobe Bryant to retire at season’s end

In a poem published to ‘The Players’ Tribune’ on Sunday, Kobe Bryant announced that this season will be his last.

The decorated 20-year NBA veteran said that while his mind could take another season, his body just can’t hold up.

“My heart can take the pounding. My mind can handle the grind,” wrote 37-year-old Bryant. “But my body knows it’s time to say goodbye.”

Bryant will retire as one of the greatest players of all time. He currently sits third on the all-time scoring list, and holds nearly every individual Los Angeles Lakers record.
