There are mixed feelings at Humber College about voting in the federal election, Humber News found on Thursday.
Humber estimated that there were more than 56,000 full-time students and 28,000 part-time students enrolled at the post-secondary institution in 2014.
Some students interviewed inside Humber’s Learning Resource Commons at the North campus said they don’t know the issues well enough to vote on Oct. 19.
While others said they are eager to cast their ballots.
“My parents do and they think it’s good for me to start voting,” Corrine Cato, a fourth year Kinesiology student at Guelph-Humber, said. “A lot of people don’t think it makes a difference but I like to vote.”
York University held an advanced election poll before the advanced election voting session this weekend.
Elections Canada reported that 3.6 million people cast their votes in the advanced polls.
