Happy birthday Google! The site, first launched in 1998, celebrates its 14th birthday on Sept. 27. It celebrated with an animated birthday cake doodle.
The search engine incorporated on Sept. 4, 1998 but today has been Google’s birthday since 2005 when the site first announced its record number of pages it had indexed by then.
Google also announced today the Underwater Street View, which will take users to the Great Barrier Reef and beyond. So far Google has captured the wildlife in the waters off Australia, Philippines and Hawaii.
