Hollywood professionals and black advocacy groups are boycotting the upcoming Oscars ceremony this Sunday.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has responded by committing to “doubling the number of woman and diverse members of the academy by 2020”.

Final voting by Academy members for this year’s Oscars officially closed Feb. 23. The ceremony is being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, and the awards ceremony will broadcast live on ABC at 8:30 p.m. (EST).
