The deadline is fast approaching for Porter Airlines and CEO Robert Deluce to get a decision in their favor for airport expansion.

Porter is seeking permission to fly Bombardier jets in and out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, facilitating more flights to more destinations. In order to accommodate these jets, the airport landing strip would need to be expanded.

Deluce faces an April 1 deadline for a non-refundable deposit payable to Bombardier.

At City Hall today members of the media received a review of safety concerns in regards to an expanded downtown airport.

The meeting was held by Transport Action Ontario, a non-government organization advocating for sustainable public and freight transportation.
