Go trains are running on schedule after a CN freight train derailed early Thursday morning as it fell on its side near the Etobicoke North GO station.
No injuries were reported on the scene. A few of the cars that jumped the track were empty at the time of the derailment.
The cars were also moving at a slow speed as the train was arriving at Etobicoke Station, which makes the cause of the incident unclear at the moment.
Moments after the derailment, Metrolinx representative Marie Anne Aikins tweeted out that the incident has had no effect on the transit schedule for commuters.
Nonetheless, the matter did have significant consequences for the transit line.
“It was blocking off access to the parking lot and some of our walkways but they separated some of the cars so with the help of our transit safety officers, they are escorting people safely into the station.” Aikins told the media.

This comes a day after the Greater Toronto Area experienced high winds that has caused a transport truck to tip over on the Burlington Skyway Wednesday afternoon.
Environment Canada stated wind gusts reached a speed of about 80 kilometers per hour at the time of the transport truck being knocked over.
GO Transit announced later in the day that a bypass will not be attempted until at least 3 p.m.
