International Women’s Day takes place every year on March 8. It’s been around since the early 1900s, with countries all around the world celebrating the day with different traditions.

Each year the UN gives a theme to the day, this year’s is Equality For Women is Progress For All.

In some areas, like Afghanistan and Russia , it’s considered an official holiday. In other areas like Italy it’s tradition for men to give flowers to the women in their life.
