Just because you’re single on Valentine’s Day, doesn’t mean you can’t have an orgasm. We headed to Come As You Are on Queen and Spadina for a crash course on sex toys.

We talked to Sarah Forbes-Roberts from the sex shop co-operative, and she opened our eyes to a subject that many people can still have a hard time talking about.

There are a lot of misconceptions about sex toys, but using them can be a great way to gain a better understanding of your body, and lead to a more satisfying sex life.

Walking into a sex shop for the first time can be an overwhelming experience. There are a lot of options, from lube and condoms, to strap ons and butt plugs. Sarah says to start simple, and experiment to figure out what you like.

There’s no need to break the bank when buying a sex toy. A simple vibrator can cost as little as $15, but will still be powerful enough to get the job done. For someone more experienced, or looking to splurge, the higher end models can run into the hundreds.

If you have a partner, bringing sex toys into the relationship can be a great way to keep things exciting. However, bringing the subject up can be uncomfortable for many people. According to Sarah, communicating with your partner is key.
